In the US a lot of people just finished celebrating Christmas. Others celebrated Kwanza, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Summer Solstice for those south of the Equator, and probably a couple of other holidays I am not thinking of right now. (Feel free to enlighten me, I love learning new things. ) I want to wish everyone a happy holiday, which ever variety you celebrate.
Just a quick update of some of the things I have done while I was in out of reach this year. In June, I made this hat for a very dear friend:
It is the Esprit Chemo Turban. I am drawing a complete blank on the yarn. It was a very soft cotton/polyester if I remember correctly, the thread made up out of 9 or so very loosly twisted threads.
I have also worked on several squares for my 63 crocheted squares afghan. Let me see if I can show you those kind of quickly:
I think that catches you up on that blanket, and for those of you with sharp eyes, that last square is indeed number 59, I have only 4 squares more to go!
I also made The Swan Doily:
It is here unwashed/unblocked, but I forgot to take pictures after I blocked it… Oops! The bottom one is a closeup picture of one of the swans, which I think turned out very nicely. After blocking the lines were much neater… The recipient was very happy with the doily. I used Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Cotton.
Enjoy the season!
