In order to create a Russian Join, you need 2 ends of yarn, and a sharp needle. You really want a sharp needle, though with a big enough eye that the yarn will fit through. Cross the two ends like so:
And I like to trim the ends, but of course you could just weave the ends until you run out of end. You aim on having the ends be as minimal as possible, because that will be the easiest when you knit over this join.
The nice thing about this join is that it will simultaneously pull the end in opposite directions, and that will pretty much guarantee that it won’t pull itself loose. I hope you found this helpful. If you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to leave me a comment. Enjoy your knitting!
